01  FDA panel backs blood test that screens for 50 cancers at once.

A new blood test called Galleri can look for signs of 50 different cancers with a single draw. Tumors shed tiny DNA fragments into the bloodstream, and the test picks up those fragments to flag whether cancer might be present. If it finds something, it also predicts where in the body the signal came from, giving doctors a starting point for follow-up scans or biopsies.

In September, an FDA advisory panel voted that the benefits outweigh the risks. The agency still has to make a final call, but approval would open the door to insurance coverage.

02  More schools are ditching processed food for real ingredients.

In Cleveland and Santa Fe, students are sitting down to salad bars with local produce, eggs, and meat from nearby ranches. Packaged salads with wilted lettuce are out. Cilantro-lime rice made with five ingredients is in. Both districts are working with the Chef Ann Foundation, which helps schools replace ultra-processed foods with whole ingredients cooked from scratch.

The Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services launched the Harvest to Hallways initiative this semester, connecting school districts with local farmers. Plus, a bipartisan Senate bill would create a pilot program to help more cafeterias move away from heat-and-serve operations.

Why Halle Berry Bet on This Probiotic

Pendulum Metabolic Daily probiotic

When Halle Berry, someone who could partner with anyone, chooses a probiotic company, you pay attention. The brand she got behind: Pendulum, founded by PhD scientists from Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Berkeley, and Stanford showed that appetite can stem from the microbiome.

Their breakthrough was uncovering one of the most beneficial strains for naturally curbing cravings, then developing the technology to deliver it in a bioavailable way, so it arrives in your colon where it can actually work. They've improved countless lives with their Metabolic Daily probiotic, powered by Akkermansia muciniphila. This probiotic strengthens gut lining, improves digestive health, and supports GLP-1 signal pathways.* With 100s of 5-star reviews, 4.5K+ mentions of Akkermansia in scientific publications, and 29K+ medical professional recommendations for Pendulum, the science speaks for itself. HSA/FSA eligible.

*Based on preclinical studies. This product is not intended for weight loss.

03  Congress wants to test whether fruits and vegetables can treat disease.

A new bill would pay doctors to prescribe fresh produce to patients with chronic conditions and then track what happens. The Accountable Produce is Medicine Act, introduced in the House and Senate with bipartisan support, would create a five-year pilot program covering the cost of fruits and vegetables for Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Participants would also get nutrition counseling and remote health monitoring. The bill even gives preference to food grown within 250 miles or raised using regenerative farming.

  • Diet soda drinkers lost the same amount of weight as water drinkers in a two-year trial of nearly 500 British adults. Researchers found no difference in waist circumference, body composition, or metabolic measures between the groups.

  • An experimental injection cut visceral fat by 12 percent in early human trials. CBL-514 triggers fat cells to self-destruct while leaving surrounding tissue intact, targeting the deep abdominal fat that liposuction can't reach.

❝

Long overdue: It's long overdue to look into vaccine damage and the long-term consequences. I'm so glad Mr. Kennedy is overseeing some research into this. — Cindy

Good, if the research stays independent: The US policies influence ours in Canada, so that will hopefully benefit the many sufferers abandoned by the healthcare system in Canada. — Dale

Good, if the research stays independent: We need to restore trust in vaccines that are proven safe. — Anonymous
