How we work
Healthy, Again. exists to help families make sense of health news. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Every story links to where it came from: the study, the government announcement or the news report we’re summarizing. Click through and read it yourself. We want you to be able to check our work.
A study in mice is not a study in people. A link between two things is not proof that one causes the other. When a finding is early, small or only shows a correlation, we say so in plain words. You’ll often see us write: it’s a link, not proof.
When new research contradicts older research, we tell you that too, so you see the whole picture and not just the newest headline.
We report on health research and policy. We don’t diagnose, treat or tell you what to take. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you start, stop or change any medicine or supplement.
Healthy, Again. is free because sponsors help pay for it. Sponsored messages always appear under a “Together with” label and are marked as content from our sponsors, so you can tell them apart from our reporting.
If we get something wrong, we correct the web version of the story. When a correction matters to your decisions, we tell readers in a following issue. Spot an error? Reply to any issue or use our contact page.
Our readers want health news that asks hard questions about food, medicine and the agencies that regulate them. We follow those stories and give you the evidence, so you can decide for yourself.
